Nancy Bowen-Hicks, Au.D., Past President

Dr. Nancy Bowen-Hicks attended Michigan State University, subsequently received her Master of Science degree in Audiology from Portland State University and completed her Doctor of Audiology degree through University of Florida.  Prior to joining the Adventist Health’s audiology team, Dr. Bowen-Hicks served as the director of the Pacific EarClinic, associated with Pacific University’s School of Audiology.  She co-founded and was both a clinician and clinic administrator for Audiology Clinic, Inc. in Vancouver, Washington from 1982 to 2012, one of the first independent, patient-centered private audiology practices in the state.  She also had the unique experience of providing audiology services to the visually impaired and special needs students at the Washington State School for the Blind for 26 years.  Dr. Bowen-Hicks served as a consulting audiologist for the Washington State Department of Health's Early Hearing Detection and Diagnosis Committee and instituted the Newborn Hearing Screening Program at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, WA.  Her career has also included providing clinical audiology for Portland Public Schools, Kaiser Permanente and ENT practices in the Portland area. 

Dr. Bowen-Hicks is a member of the Columbia Crest Lions Club and is a recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award, the highest form of recognition from Lions International embodying humanitarian ideas.  She has volunteered as front gate manager for the Vancouver Wine and Jazz Festival since 1997, and as a member of the Bravo! Vancouver Chorale, she has performed in Italy, Croatia, New York and Washington DC, as well as various venues from Portland to Seattle.  Nancy looks for opportunities to go motorcycle touring with her husband and is a fan of the Seattle Seahawks and Portland Trailblazers!
